Discover Brazil's Wild Wonderland
This YouTube video is a local news segment (in Portuguese) providing an inside view of a Jacaré (caiman) farm in the town of Cáceres in the northern region of the Pantanal. This shows the raising of the Jacaré from young - then (once they reach two years of age) it shows how they're processed. The skins are used for leather - whereas the meat is processed for restaurants and export. This is a cooperative venture set up as a modern and sustainable alternative to harvesting animals in the wild.
